Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage to go off air; actor Eijaz Khan calls Mukhi one of his best roles ever

In what can be described as a sudden development, Sony Entertainment Television has decided to pull the plug off Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage on August 18 itself. The show was launched in March and surprisingly enjoys a good viewership abroad. Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage was the story of Aru (Niyati Fatnani) and Mukhi (Eijaz Khan) who get married due to unusual circumstances. The TRPs of the show have been low throughout. They are in the bracket of 0.2 to 0.3, which is really low for the given time slot. Actor Eijaz Khan got a lot of praise for his wonderful performance on the show. He confirmed the closure of the show to The Times of India, “Though surprising, this news was expected. I guess we didn’t get the desired numbers and hence, the decision. As an actor, I think I did a decent job. Mukhi is one of the most challenging characters of my career.” (Also Read: Eijaz Khan: I am really tired now for a relationship. I cannot do the hard work)

The actor gained more than 10 kgs for the role of the middle-aged village head. It seems in the coming weeks, they were supposed to start the romantic track of Mukhi and Aru, so he had plans to shed the extra weight he had put on for the show. However, that plan is over now. He further told the publication, “I put on around 12 kilos for the role as it’s a powerful character. Since I play an middle-aged man, I made sure that I had lot of weight on my face and body. However, I thought of shedding it all with the beginning of the romantic track, as the heroine (Niyati Fatnani) and I had to complement each other in one frame. There was also talk about a makeover, but I don’t know what is happening. The production house would be in a better position to answer that question.”

As Beyhadh comes to an end, Sony TV is also putting an end to Peshwa Bajirao that also has very bad ratings. New shows like Ek Deewana Tha and Haasil will come on the channel. Stay tuned to Bollywood Life for more scoop and updates…
