Alia Bhatt rubbishes rumours of not wanting to spread ‘Aashiqui’ with Sidharth Malhotra

Since morning there have been rumours about Alia Bhatt wanting to back out from Bhatt clan’s, Aashiqui 3. It all started after Mumbai Mirror quoted a source saying how Alia has only accommodated this film due to sentimental reasons and that she is busy prioritizing her other projects like Dragon opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Gully Boys opposite Ranveer Singh over Aashiqui 3 as of now. In fact, the report even suggested how it’s almost like Aashiqui 3 is soon to get shelved. But guess there’s no truth to this above report for Alia just took to Twitter and rubbished all the speculations surrounding Aashiqui 3. Alia wrote, “Never ever said anything about not wanting to do Aashiqui 3! No idea where this is coming from..Aashiqui is a very special brand & working with my father for the first time is equally special! All things take their time. This will too.” Now isn’t this enough for you to stay hopeful around Aashiqui 3? Here, check out Alia’s tweets below:

Although Sidharth Malhotra had admitted about being approached for Aashiqui 3 by saying, “I am in talks for Aashiqui 3 with Alia Bhatt, but nothing has been confirmed.” This is the first time Alia has spoken in agreement to doing the film. I mean, if you remember, even in February this year when Alia was asked about Aashiqui 3, she had maintained, “Abhi tak kuch tey nahi hua hai. Wo likh rahe hai abhi. Mohit is busy with Half-Girlfriend and Vishesh Films is busy with Begum Jaan. My sister is also writing that lekin abhi aur kuch aur likh rahi hai.” However, now with this official confirmation, it’s certain that Aashiqui 3 will indeed go on floors with Alia and Sid on board.

Meanwhile, director Mohit Suri had reasoned why they don’t want to rush into making Aashiqui 3 just because everyone is speculating about it. He had said, ‘It’s a loved franchise but it should come back for the right reason, which is the script. I would’ve made ‘Aashiqui 2’ even if it would’ve been called ‘RJ ki ek love story’. I wanted to make the film badly and tell the story. You shouldn’t make a film because you want to capitalise on a title. You can get the film to the audience but you can’t make them like it. I can lose everything I built with ‘Aashiqui 2’ by making a bad ‘Aashiqui 3.”

On that note, what do you think is going to be the next move?
